The Varjo VR-2 is one of the most advanced 6DoF PC VR headsets on the market, ideal for use in highly realistic training simulations, research in fully controllable VR environments and for design projects in human-eye resolution. The Varjo VR-2 has the following advantages:
First, the Varjo VR-2 is one of the only VR headsets capable of recreating human-eye resolution. The VR-2 provides the user with near human-eye vision thanks to the fact that it has 4 high resolution displays inside the headset, allowing users to see even the tiniest of details. The VR-2 is able to provide this level of realism thanks to 4 built in displays, this is very unique as normal headsets are usually equipped with one display.
Second, the VR-2 has the most advanced and powerful Eye Tracker technology currently found in any PC VR headset. This makes the VR-2 perfect for research and gaining behavioral insights, allowing data analytics and user interactions to be analysed for understanding marketing, psychology, medical and usability patterns. The Varjo VR-2 eye tracking is even able to collect data from users wearing glasses or looking at extreme angles.
Third, the VR-2 is the only headset in the market that is compatible with Steam VR and Open VR development platforms in ultra high resolutions. This allows users access to one of the largest VR platforms available all in 4K resolution. Varjo VR-2
The main difference between the VR-2 and XR-1 is the XR-1’s mixed reality capabilities. THe XR-1 is able to do this thanks to 2x 12 megapixel wide angle cameras on the outside of the headset. Allowing the environment to be analyzed at low latency to provide a near instantaneous depth map. The mixed reality capabilities allow users to design, visualize and test a virtual object in the real world.

No, the VR-2 does not support GPUs produced by AMD.
Four Steam VR Base Stations are recommended when using VR applications that require movement, however, two base stations are sufficient when using applications that can be done in a stationary position or while sitting.
The VR-2 has two 1920 x 1080 low persistence micro-OLEDs and two 1440 x 1600 low persistence AMOLEDs that work in combination to provide 4K rendering in each eye.
